The Work Environment Of The Hospitality Industry Essay

Hunger breeds discontentment. There are various simple methods to feed people, but things get more sophisticated when they ask to be satisfied. The trickiest part of the hospitality industry is to cope with customers’ moody minds, picky personalities, and rigorous requirements. It is not enough to simply deliver the top-quality Kobe beef to the customers’ tables in five minutes after the order has been placed, but it is about how the customers are treated. The manner of waiters, the speed of cooking, the marble decorations on the ceiling, and the softness of the calf-skin cushions. Every tiny little detail in a restaurant has the potential to tilt the customers’ judgements. Thus, running a â€Å"killer restaurant† efficiently is not only a complicated task to fulfill, but also a dedicated life career of perfectionism. The question has been raised: what are needed to operate a restaurant successfully, and what are the elements in the working place that can affect employees ‘productivity? The answer comes in many ways. The working environment of a restaurant is unique, especially for those high-end dinning houses. Hence, the owner of the restaurant, is the engine to drive every single gear of this big machine. The main responsibility is similar to what a human resource director would do in a smaller, faster-paced environment.
